What you write here belongs to you. This page says plainly what we hold, why we hold it, and how to have it back.

What We Hold

Your name and your email address, so we know you and can reach you. Whatever you choose to put on your profile, in your own words. The letters you write to other members. Your place at a tea party, and the record of what you have paid.

You decide what goes on your profile, and you can change any of it whenever you like.

How We Use It

To show you to the women you would want to meet, to carry your letters, to hold your place at a tea party, and to write to you about the community you have joined.

Your Letters

The writing between an Aunt and a Darling is theirs. We carry it and we keep it safe. Where a woman reports a message, a person reads that message so she is looked after.

There is no open tracking on anything we send you. Every email we send is a plain letter that brings you here to read the real one.

Money

Payments are handled by Stripe, who are built for exactly this. Aunt Tea never sees your card number and never stores it.

An hour with your Aunt is paid to her directly. That money never passes through Aunt Tea, so we hold no record of it.

Who Else Sees It

Other members see what you have chosen to show them. Beyond that, your details go to the services that make the site work — the company that hosts it, the one that sends the email, and Stripe. They act on our instructions, and no further than that.

Your writing is never sold, and it is never handed to anybody for advertising.

Having It Back

Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you and we will send it. Ask us to correct anything and we will. Ask us to remove you and we will remove you.

Australian Privacy Law

Aunt Tea follows the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. Where you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, write to us first. Where that leaves you unsatisfied, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner will hear you.
